Arthur Mitchell Passes Away

It is with great sadness that I share the news of Arthur Mitchell's death earlier today.

A legendary dancer with the New York City Ballet and student of George Balanchine, in later years he was a beloved teacher and mentor. He paved the way for hundreds of African-American dancers, founding the Dance Theater of Harlem, and will be deeply missed by the dance community in America and the world. He was 84.
