Term One News

Term One is well underway, and there's already plenty to report!

Our amazing fundraising effort last year not only paid for brand new mirrors in Studio B, but also a much needed new stereo system in Studio A - a big thank you to everyone who donated!

With the leftover money, Alison bought two new balance boards for stretch classes.

I was busy over the holidays making six new exam skirts for our Junior Ballet students, made from material given to Mandy...

Meet and Greet went really well, and it was awesome to see so many new faces. Returning students received their medals in class during the first week from last year's exam sessions.

There's plenty to look forward to this year, including our annual studio trip to the Phoenix Dance Workshop in Palmerston North on 29 - 30 April. The weekend is amazing, and I thoroughly recommend attending!

Last year's amazing Phoenix tutors

We've also got our annual studio seminar on 2 April. This year's theme is Tangled, and the students will be making props. This year's tutors are Gentry Simpson and Tyne Hesselgrave. Gentry is also running our exciting new classes, Open Contemporary and Open Musical Theatre. These classes will be running once a term at $15 each. Don't miss out!

The studio has also been asked to perform at the basketball as the halftime entertainment this year. This will be on Thursday 6 April, and the students will be re-performing their seminar group dances.

Competition students are currently getting ready for the April Competitions, and Alison has been busy preparing for our studio run Restricted and Impromptu Competition Weekend later this year.

And lastly, a big congratulations to current senior student Courtney who has been given the lead role in the Little Theatre production of Remote. Break a leg!
