

Welcome to Term 3!
Time for a news roundup! Term 3 started off on a high note. The medals and certificates from our recent Medal Tests and Senior Ballet Grades arrived during the school holidays and the students received these in class. Congratulations to all the students who sat exams! We also have some very exciting news - after months of fundraising, the first of our new mirrors has gone up in Studio B! Spotlight: Margot Fonteyn
Hi everyone! It's Spotlight Saturday, and, as promised, I'll be focusing on famous British ballerina Dame Margot Fonteyn. Margot Fonteyn was born Margaret Evelyn Hookham on 18 May 1919, in Surrey, England. Fonteyn started ballet classes at the age of 6, but two years later her father found a job in China and moved his family there. Every week I'll focus on a famous dancer, and we're starting off with arguably the most famous ballerina of all time - Anna Pavlova. Anna Pavlova was born 12 February, 1881 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
